Valencia CF will take on newly promoted CD Castellón who were promoted to the Spanish second tier via the play-offs after beating Cornellà by 1-0. The pre-season friendly will take place at the Antonio Puchades stadium at the Cuitat Esportiva at 7 pm kick-off time.
The first pre-season friendly will help the squad build up match fitness levels, instill tactical aspects as well as getting more game time ahead of the start of the 2020-21 LaLiga campaign. Javi Gracia’s side will be looking to hit the ground running this pre-season in what will be the first regional derby friendly.
Valencia CF have played CD Castellón on 93 occasions with a strong balance of 54 wins, 14 draws and 25 losses. Last time out Valencia CF registered a 5-1 win over their regional opponents in a friendly in 2013 away at CD Castellón.
